Filling Out Your Medical History Report

 The first part of your family medicine exam in Gooding, ID, starts with you completing a medical history report that asks you questions about any medications you take, any conditions you have, and other similar information. We'll also want to know information about your previous physician.

Please bring with you any info about the medications you take, such as their names and dosages.

Talking With You

 Once we have the baseline for your appointment (the medical history report), a practitioner from our practice will want to speak to you and get to know you better. For instance, we'll want to know about any issues you're having and will ask you questions about any conditions you currently have.

During this time, we'll want to know about your current lifestyle, such as if you drink or smoke, your exercise and diet habits, and how much you sleep.

Physical Examination 

 Part of this examination will consist of a physical examination, which may include taking your weight and height, checking your blood pressure and other vitals, and doing a physical examination of your body to notice any signs of a potential problem.

If you have any specific concerns, we may press on the area (if applicable) to assess it for any swelling, lumps, or other similar problems.

Possible Testing

 Particularly if you have a chronic condition or are experiencing specific problems, we may order testing to fully get to know your medical situation. This may consist of our practitioner ordering blood work and evaluating everything from vitamin and mineral levels to glucose to electrolytes.

Sometimes, we may request imaging if you have particular issues with a body part or have a condition like diabetes and certain complaints.
